Fall Fair – a long-standing tradition for SMHS

Fall+Fair+-+a+long-standing+tradition+for+SMHS

On Friday 15 ASB organized the Fall Fair for all the students in SMHS. There was also a dance by baile folklórico. ASB hosts the fall fair every year which coincidently also lands near Mexico’s Independence Day. We celebrated that alongside with our food. Food given out was some of Mexico’s popular snacks/food.

We had music playing and even though most people did not dance along, we did have two amazing dancers who danced. They catched everyone’s eyes as they were the only ones brave enough to dance along. After a while some others joined but they remained off to the side.

Many clubs took this opportunity to make sales for their clubs. Mrs. Rodriguez held 3 stands for each of the clubs/organizations. The FFA Poultry Judging sold popcorn and cup noodles, FFA General sold corn in a cup, and CLASSOF2025 sold aguas frescas. Ms. Hennings and Mr. Guiremand also had a stand for their club (Close-Up Washington) which sold baked goods, aguas frescas, and chips.

About the Contributor
ello, my name is Yareli Vasquez-Fernandez and I'm a senior this year. I'm currently 17 and I was born in April.  I have 4 sisters and I'm the second oldest. I've been working for around 5 months. This is my first job.  I got this job because I wanted money for my upcoming trip in March 2024. Though I've been spending it recklessly I'm starting to save up now! This will be my first and last year in journalism since I am a senior. I'm excited to see how far I will get with my writing this year. A fact about me is that I actually hate writing😆. Even though I do spend most of my time at work, I do try fit in time for out of school events. I'm also in yearbook which is helpful for journalism (I would assume). I genuinely don't enjoy watching movies and I will only watch them if someone buys the tickets, or I'm forced to watch it. I don't like strawberry flavored stuff same goes with watermelon. If it's not in its physical form, I don't like it because I do like the fruit itself. I'm not sure what it is but it just tastes different artificial or not. I also weirdly don't enjoy coffee. I work but I don't often get tired just it's probably the same thing, but I still have energy you know🤔. I'm very open to listening to anything but I HATE country music.
