Ms. Bennet (Ms. Delgadillo) and Mr. Darcy (Mr. Root) looked absolutely phenomenal in their costumes that The PCPA lend them for this event. Ms. Delgadillo happily shared that, “It was fun and an engaging way to celebrate our favorite literary characters and foster a love for literature among our students.”
During this event there was food, drinks and a raffle. Luceni Juarez an 11th grade student said, “I liked the enthusiasm of the actors, teachers, and presenters. The food was delicious, and the togetherness of all of us sitting and eating was enjoyable. The skeleton in the photo section was hilarious, and the typewriter with the Edgar Allan Poe quote was a nice touch.”
This wasn’t only a wonderful way for students to connect but also for English teachers to connect with other students and staff. We saw the connection of our community in our school through this event. We appreciate the teachers who were able to participate. Ms. Turner shared a classic Juliet quote saying, “Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, and I’ll no longer be a Capulet.”
Ms. Delgadillo shows her appreciation for the photobooth stating, “The free Polaroid booth was a phenomenal addition, and it was heartening to see the enthusiasm and creativity of our student body.”
All the little details put into this event pulled it together and made it a fun, and beautiful environment. “First and foremost, a special thanks to Mrs. Vicky Trejo, a former SMHS alumna and counselor, and her team for the splendid decorations. Their efforts added a touch of elegance to the venue, and we couldn’t be more grateful.” added Ms. Delgadillo.
Overall, this event was very successful, and many people enjoyed the time spent. Ms. Delgadillo seemed excited to see all the students dressed up and laughing along with the teachers who attended. Our last word comes from Mr. Valencia who shared his appreciation for this event saying, “Nice job today, Julieta! Thanks for inviting me to be a part of it. School should be fun too! Thanks for reminding us all about that.” With that I think we can all agree that this event was fun and a good way to feel connected with others around campus while celebrating Halloween and Literature all in one.
