Hi, my name is Selena and I am 14 years old and this is my first year in Santa Maria High School. This is my first time doing anything related to Journalism, I'm pretty nervous but excited about taking this class. I've decided to take this class because it caught my attention and I wanted to know more about Journalism.

For my freshman year I hope to have a fun experience and also to be able to maintain good grades. I have high expectations for myself this school year because I know if I do my best, it'll pay off; I also want to do my best for my parents.

I was born in California in Orange County and grew up there my whole life but moved to Santa Maria in the beginning of last year. I am an only child so it's just me and my parents. Although I moved to Santa Maria a year ago, I still don't feel adjusted here just because most of my family members live in Orange County and I rarely visit them now. I was born on May 6, 2009. In my free time I like to sleep, be on my phone, or just listen to music. I like almost any type of music genre except for country music, I enjoy making people laugh and I like smiling.
