As of March 19th, 2025, I published a book of poetry that is currently self-published on Amazon. I started writing this book when I was 15 years old in my freshman year of high school. I have the option to purchase the book in paperback, eBook (Kindle Unlimited) as well as hardcover.
Dear Life P.S You’re A Mess is a book of poetry based around the struggles of mental health, illnesses, and relationships (not just romantic). The summery provided on Amazon: “A book of raw poetry written by a teen, who struggles with mental illnesses and learned to feel alone in their struggles due to having no one to understand the level of darkness that seemed to hold them hostage, in hopes of helping someone else avoid feeling that source of isolation.”
I wasn’t sure if I was going to publish this book in the beginning of my writing. I started as a way of being able to express myself freely without feeling like I had to censor my words, but after showing a few people my work I was told that I should look into publishing. I was hesitant even then but when I was told that they could relate to it I knew that putting it out there might help someone who needs to feel understood.
Although possibly triggering, the poetry in this book may be eye opening. In my experience, it took me a long time to realize recovery was not as simple as some make it out to be. There are ups and downs and even if there is a relapse it won’t define an individual as a failure.
