In The Eyes Of Monet

Looking through the visions of an artist, his perspective through art
Check out the trailer of, “The Master’s Pupil.” If you’re more curious, check out their website, will be linked below!

When you had to write a biography about an important person, you’d either write an essay about them or explain why they were an important person and look through all these big textbooks, and websites.

However, this creator decided to portray the game inside the eye of Claude Monet. The visual and artistic ideas through this puzzle game. It features 12 levels of mind-bending puzzles based on the adventures the character takes.

As the character travels in the pupil of Monet, by completing the pieces while his visions start to fail because of cataracts. This is why the game starts to seem blurry, since that’s what Claude Monet used to see when he painted, his paintings.

It was hand-painted by Pat Naoum, he spent over 7 years on it! He enjoyed sitting down, scrapping the game, and sculpting it, that’s what he found enjoyable.

“Learn to love the experience- If you can enjoy the hours, it doesn’t matter how long it takes, at least you’re enjoying your time.” Pat Naoum

Landscapes combined with dynamic and emotional set pieces, soundscapes, and music. Challenges waiting for you to complete, as you explore to the next level. There’s no language, no text, or instructions because you play it for experience.

The Master’s Pupil won Excellence in Art at the Australian Game Developers Award and was recognized by the AGDA that is run down by IGEA. They’re grounded as Australian promoters who help other Australia games, and Industries, to give them recognition.

Sadly, he wasn’t able to be there to receive his award but his brother Zac Naoum, accepted the award on behalf of his brother Pat Naoum. But he prepared a speech, and Zac nailed the speech at the ceremony, he thanked everyone who helped him design the game and his parents.

“Thanks to my parents, Diane and John Paul Naoum. Who always told me, do what you want to do, they told us that success or money doesn’t matter. As long as you spend your time doing something that you love,” said Zac Naoum through the speech Pat Naoum had.

Basically do what you want to do, usually when you do a job for fame or just for money, oftentimes you don’t find it enjoyable. People usually, tend to strive for more success when they do what they love doing,  which is following their passion.

Pat Naoum Wins

They were nominated for the AGDA award and were awarded the Excellence in Art at the Australian Game Developers Awards (Pat Naoum).

Hi, my name is Aida Perez and I am one of the contributors for The Breeze. This is my 2nd year being part of The Breeze and it feels quite nice.I’m currently a senior at Santa Maria High School, and I’m going to be part of The Breeze for 2023-2024 school year. I’m hoping that we’ll keep on making progress for the website and make it the best in 2023 and my last year in 2024.

At SMHS I work in the cafeteria as a little side job along with another part-time job out of school. I've been working there since the end of my sophomore year.

My top three favorite movies would be: "10 Things I Hate About You," "Can't Buy Me Love" and "Love Rosie."

During my spare time, (if I'm not working) I like to skate and go around discovering new places (stores, parks, restaurants, thrift stores) while taking pictures. I don't mind if it's far, I'm still down to go for an adventure since I don't like wasting my time, I feel like if I don't do anything when I'm free, I'm wasting my time. I also like to draw on sidewalks (using chalk).

This year, I'm currently trying to do most of the things I want to do, I wanna live without having any regrets. Even if things don't go the way I want them to, I don't get discouraged, I just move on with my life. And keep on fighting for what I want to do, if I'm passionate about it.

I hope we all can be friends and make fun memories before I graduate. Feel free to talk to me, because I like socializing and meeting new people.
