GENERAL

 

  • Students, afterschool tutoring services are now available in the MMLC, Monday – Thursday from 3:15 – 6:00 pm. Please bring your homework, essays and study guides and let us help you increase your grades!

 

  • Students who are interested in taking the ASVAB test, the test will be here at Santa Maria High on November 2, 2018, immediately after school.  Please see Ms. Washington in the Career Center to sign up.

 

  • Have you entered Squatober yet? We are increasing our repetitions to 80 squats everyday. If you’re participating in the challenge tag @ProjectTeenHealth on Instagram or Snapchat @pth-capslo to win this month’s limited edition prizes! November’s challenge is coming soon!

 

  • Hey students! Are you still paying for your lunch every day?  Do you want to know if you qualify for free lunch? Talk to Patty Lopez, Community Liaison, today during lunchtime in front of the cafeteria.  

 

CLUBS

 

  • Hey Freshmen, please join your Link Crew Leaders for an ‘Afternoon at the Movies’ on Friday, Nov. 2.  Because it is a minimum day for classes, we will gather at Ethel Pope Auditorium right after school at 2:00 PM, to grab snacks and find a seat. Please come and join in the fun.

 

  • Attention students, SOMOS club is having a bake sale after school on Wednesday, October 31 by Morrison exit.  

 

  • SOMOS would like to invite you to join us to celebrate Dia de los Muertos with us.  We will be watching Coco on Thursday, November 1, from 3-5 pm in room 351.  Bring a friend!

 

  • Key Club meeting, TOMORROW at lunch in room 355.  Our Magic Mountain trip is coming up fast.  We hope to see all members at our meeting.

 

  • KPop Club meeting today at 3:05 pm in Room 623. We will be re-electing officers, so be sure to show up and make your vote count!

 

  • FBLA meeting this Thursday in room 230. We will be discussing the business luncheon and section. Please plan on attending.

 

  • Due to a Room conflict, BStrongLife Club won’t be meeting this week. We will meet again next week on Wednesday, November 7, at lunchtime.   As usual, we will have plenty of free pizza and prizes.

 

  • Want to give your friends, your crush, or even yourself a sweet treat this Halloween? The Gay Straight Alliance will be selling Boo Grams for only $1 at lunch, TODAY. Find them by locating the signs, or simply stop by room 222 to purchase one.

 

  • Attention students and staff! CE’ENI is inviting you to join the members of this club to enjoy all the activities and events created to celebrate the Day of the Dead. See the beautiful Day of the Dead altars all this week in the art gallery. Admire the different displays created by our students who are honoring their relatives and friends. Make your own sugar skull this Wednesday and Thursday in the cafeteria. This will be right after school at 3:00 PM.

 

  • CE’ENI is also having a rally for Day of the Dead this Friday during lunch in the practice field. Be there and take pictures with your friend at the photo booth.

 

  • Attention Close Up Washington DC Students:  If you sold items in our Poppin Time Popcorn fundraiser and have not picked them up yet, please go to Mr. Guiremand’s room #642 ASAP and pick up your items for delivery.

 

SPORTS

 

  • Girls Basketball will be holding basketball tryouts starting October 29th through November 2nd at the Wilson Gym. The tryouts will be from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Bring your basketball, shoes and shorts. Also, you will need to have your physical form filled out and turned in. If you have any questions, please see Coach Jimmy.
